Longest meditation world record

Deepak Chopra, MD, a well-known spiritual figure and the creator of the Chopra Center, set the record for the longest meditation.

In November 2016, he achieved the record for the longest group meditation session with an 8-hour, 15-minute session. He co-founded the Chopra Center, which sponsored this meditation session, which took place in Carlsbad, California’s La Costa Resort and Spa.

Over 900 individuals participated in the meditation session, which Chopra and other meditation specialists guided. Each portion of the session was split into smaller chunks, concentrating on a different aspect of meditation, such as breathing techniques, guided imagery, and mantras.

The organic physician states that people joining in such a peaceful environment may transform the world.

He says, “When we change our consciousness in the direction of peace, love, compassion, harmony or love, it affects everyone on the planet.”

In total, more than 140,000 people attended the meditation session in person and electronically through a live broadcast. Participants came from around the world to experience teaching, conversation, and a guided meditation by Chopra. India Arie and Gabrielle Bernstein were additional special guests during the World Meditation event.

The attendees had to maintain a contemplative position during the session without dozing off or getting up to break the record.

To ensure regulations were followed, the session was also observed by impartial observers and videotaped.

The meditation session’s goals were to encourage inner tranquility, mindfulness, and stress reduction and to spread knowledge about the advantages of meditation for general health and welfare.
